Job description

We are looking for ambitious, motivated and result-oriented individuals to be an Editor in our dynamic Editorial Team. Prospective candidates must be able to work in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Acquire academic contents for books and journals in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) topics.
• Manage and develop journals to improve both the quality and profitability of the journals concerned.
• Responsible for the full editorial process from manuscript to publication, including liaising with authors, reviewers, typesetters, printers, and designers, as well as preparing necessary paperwork and contracts.
• Cultivate positive relationships with authors, reviewers, editorial board members, key advisors, colleagues from various departments and other stakeholders to foster stronger collaboration.
• Ensure the commercial value of acquired titles by, e.g., analysing the time and cost of production, to maintain a steady and profitable revenue stream.
• Research and prepare statistics for market trends and prioritize publication that best suit current market trends.
• Participate in marketing and promotion activities for books and journals.
• Any ad hoc projects as and when required and assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Pure Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/ Statistics.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Must have initiative, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.
• Must be able to execute all duties diligently to achieve professional success and also enhance the business of the organization.
• Prior experience in academic publishing will be given preference.
