Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking an Accounts cum Personal Assistant to manage full sets of accounts for their commodity trading operations. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in trading or logistics. Responsibilities include end-to-end accounting and providing administrative support to senior management. Qualifications

Overview

We are looking for a competent and organised Accounts cum Personal Assistant to manage full sets of accounts for our commodity trading operations while also providing administrative and PA support to senior management. The ideal candidate is someone who can handle end-to-end accounting, is highly meticulous, and can manage confidential information with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Set Accounting Responsibilities (60–70%)

  • Handle end‑to‑end accounting including AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and petty cash.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain ledgers, track trade expenses, and ensure accurate posting of all transactions.
  • Prepare financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for management and statutory purposes.
  • Support audit preparation, tax filings, and liaise with external auditors or tax agents.
  • Manage trade‑related documentation such as purchase/sales invoices, shipping documents, freight, insurance, and contracts.
  • Monitor cash flow, AR aging, and AP schedules to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, accounting standards, and company policies.

2. Personal Assistant & Administrative Responsibilities (30–40%)

  • Provide PA support to the GM, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and correspondence management.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documents for management meetings.
  • Manage office administration tasks such as filing, procurement of office supplies, and general coordination.
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Assist with ad‑hoc administrative tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 2–5 years experience in full‑set accounting, preferably in trading, logistics, or commodity industries.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, and month‑end/year‑end closing.
  • Experience with accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Advantages / Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Familiarity with trade finance documents (LCs, trust receipts, bills for collection).
  • Experience with shipping documents (BL, COO, packing lists).
  • Previous PA experience supporting directors or management.
Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
