Job Description – Accounting Manager (Finance Department)

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will oversee all financial operations for the food-oriented business, including restaurants, central kitchen, catering, or food retail units. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, effective cost management, and supports business growth through strong financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Consolidate financial reports across multiple food outlets, central kitchen, and retail operations.
- Ensure timely closing of accounts and submission of statutory reports (GST, IRAS filings, ACRA reporting, etc.).
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts aligned with sales projections, food cost targets, and operational expenses.
- Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations to control costs (e.g., food wastage, overheads).
- Conduct profitability analysis by outlet, menu item, or business line (dine-in, delivery, catering).
Cost & Inventory Control
- Work closely with procurement and operations teams to manage food costs and supplier pricing.
- Implement effective inventory control systems for raw materials, beverages, and finished goods.
- Regularly review stock audits to minimize losses due to wastage, spoilage, or theft.
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage daily cash flow across outlets and central accounts.
- Oversee payment cycles to suppliers, landlords, and service providers.
- Monitor POS system integrations with accounting software to ensure accurate revenue capture.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Singapore financial regulations, tax requirements, and F&B licensing standards.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies during statutory audits.
- Establish internal controls tailored to F&B operations, such as daily cash reconciliation, voucher tracking, and promotions monitoring.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise a team of accountants, accounts executives, and finance assistants.
- Provide training on F&B-specific accounting systems (POS integration, recipe costing modules, inventory software).
- Foster a culture of accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
- Prior experience in the Food & Beverage / Retail / Hospitality industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore financial regulations, GST, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) and POS-integrated finance systems.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
