About the job Accountant, Financial Reporting

We are looking for an Accountant, Financial reporting for one of our international shipping client. The incumbent will be expected to assist the consolidation team with existing responsibilities and will have minimum 3 years of relevant experience in audit, consolidation, and preparation of financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and statutory information timely and accurately.
  • Update accounting records in Oracle in a timely and accurate manner for designated companies.
  • Review accounting entries created in Oracle.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, yearly and ad hoc financial reports timely and accurately.
  • Perform controlling functions in relation to providing accurate financial results and identifying weaknesses in contracts / systems, if any.
  • Assist in the preparation of board and audit committee presentation materials.
  • Be up to date on relevant accounting standards, in particular the IFRS; and assist to ensure the group accounts complies with the relevant accounting standards and group accounting policy.
  • Ensure fixed assets and depreciation data are updated in a timely and accurate manner for designated group(s).
  • Prepare audit schedules and liaise with auditors accordingly.
  • Participate in the new consolidation system migration and testing.
  • Actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures through QMS.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in: i) Audit (at least Senior 1 level), and / or ii) Commercial accounting (shipping industry preferred) with involvement in GL reporting or financial reporting.
  • Hands on experience in consolidation, year-end audit process, and preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Experience in audit of listed companies
  • Strong computer skills & experience in computerized accounting / ERP systems an advantage.
  • Ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Committed, responsible, organized, meticulous and good number sense.
  • Team player, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
