Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Saudi Arabia seeks a professional waiter for luxury hotel dining operations, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet and à la carte service.

You will greet guests, present menus, take orders, and upsell offerings while maintaining HACCP and service standards. Arabic skills are a plus, with English required for guest communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in luxury hotels, reputable restaurants, buffet or à la carte service is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food, beverages, POS and food safety.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Good English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Previous IHG, luxury hotel or GCC experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet and à la carte operations.
• Prepare assigned tables, service stations and restaurant areas before each service.
• Welcome guests warmly and assist with seating when required.
• Present menus and explain dishes, beverages, promotions and daily specials.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
• Serve food and beverages according to IHG service standards and sequence of service.
• Maintain menu, beverage, allergen and dietary requirement knowledge.
• Actively upsell food, beverages and promotions to support revenue and average check targets.
• Check guest satisfaction throughout the meal and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Recognize VIPs, returning guests and special occasions.
• Immediately report guest complaints to the Head Waiter or Supervisor and support service recovery.
• Coordinate with Culinary regarding orders, dietary requirements and special guest requests.
• Ensure accurate billing and payment procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations and restaurant areas.
• Report operational, maintenance or safety issues immediately.

• Support colleagues during busy periods and maintain a positive team environment.
• Attend and actively participate in daily briefings, departmental meetings and scheduled training sessions.
• Participate in menu tastings and product knowledge sessions.
• Continuously develop knowledge of IHG service standards, menu, beverages, allergens, upselling and guest engagement.
• Follow instructions and assigned duties from the Head Waiter, Supervisor and Restaurant Manager.

FOOD SAFETY, HYGIENE & COMPLIANCE

• Follow HACCP, hotel food safety standards and Saudi Arabian regulations.
• Maintain restaurant, buffet, tables and service station cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Follow allergen, food temperature and hygiene procedures.
• Maintain required personal hygiene, grooming and uniform standards at all times.
• Complete assigned operational and hygiene checklists.
• Report maintenance, hygiene and safety concerns immediately.
• Always keep the restaurant inspection ready for internal audits, local authority and external inspections.
