Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a BO Transmission Engineer to support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of transmission and IP networks in a 24/5 shift environment. You will provide second-line technical support, configure devices, resolve incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service availability.

The role requires 1–4 years of experience in transmission networks, strong IP/networking knowledge, and hands-on Cisco and Ericsson equipment skills.

Qualifications

1 to 4 years of experience in transmission network operations, support, or troubleshooting.
Knowledge of IP networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with Cisco routers and switches.
Hands-on experience with Ericsson transmission solutions (Mini-Link TN/6600/6352; R6000; SIU/TCU).
Understanding of configuration, incident, problem, and change management processes.
Experience using network management and monitoring tools.
Basic scripting knowledge or automation is a plus.
Cisco/Ericsson networking certifications are preferred.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Perform end-to-end second-line troubleshooting across IP and transmission networks, including routers, switches, MPLS environments, and transmission nodes.
Manage incident, problem, and configuration activities to maintain network performance and stability.
Support transmission-related outages and service degradation investigations.
Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network devices and services.
Conduct node acceptance, audits, and network health assessments.
Collaborate with field, access, operations, and third-party teams to resolve complex issues.
Follow up on transmission design-related matters and support implementation activities.
Open and manage escalations with third-line support when required.
Review and verify transmission-related network changes and activities.
Participate in technical investigations, analysis sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work in a 24/5 shift environment and provide on-call support during weekends when required.
