As the Technical Authority – Transmission, you will serve as the highest level of technical escalation for Ericsson transmission and transport network environments. You will provide expert-level support for Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies, MPLS transport networks, routers, and network management systems while ensuring operational stability and service availability. The role requires strong troubleshooting expertise, operational governance capabilities, and the ability to coordinate with customers, vendors, and cross-functional technical teams. You will contribute to fault resolution, service assurance, change management, software maintenance, and continual network improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Provide second-line and third-line technical support for Ericsson transmission and transport networks.
- Lead troubleshooting activities across routers, switches, Layer 2, Layer 3, and MPLS network environments.
- Act as the technical authority for transmission operations, ensuring adherence to operational standards and governance frameworks.
- Manage customer service requests and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Handle node acceptance, configuration management, performance management, and design coordination activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive closure of complex network incidents.
- Support software maintenance, upgrades, patches, and version management activities.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational records, and network reports.
- Support fault management, service assurance, and network optimization initiatives.
- Coordinate with customers, vendors, engineering teams, and operations teams during critical incidents and network changes.
- Guide Front Office and operations teams during complex troubleshooting and service restoration activities.
- Ensure compliance with customer service requirements, operational procedures, and telecom standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on Ericsson transmission network experience (Mandatory).
- Extensive experience with MPLS transport networks and transmission technologies.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching concepts.
- Experience supporting telecom routers, switches, and network infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in network troubleshooting, fault isolation, and service restoration.
- Experience in telecom service assurance and network operations environments.
- Knowledge of configuration management and network change management processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work within a 24×7 support environment with weekend on-call responsibilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience supporting STC or other Tier-1 telecom operators.
- Knowledge of Ericsson MINI-LINK, Router 6000, SSR, or transport network platforms.
- Experience with Network Management Systems (NMS) and OSS platforms.
- CCNP Service Provider, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent networking certifications.
- Familiarity with IP/MPLS core, aggregation, and transport network architectures.
