Job summary

Tanint in Saudi Arabia seeks a Back Office PS Core Engineer to support Ericsson Packet Core and 5G Core operations, optimization, and evolution. The role focuses on maintaining reliability, performance, and scalability in a large mobile network environment.

Qualifications

As a Back Office PS Core Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, configuration, integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Ericsson Packet Switched Core platforms across EPC and 5G Core networks. Working alongside planning, operations, transmission, cloud, and service engineering teams, you will be responsible for maintaining high network availability and delivering exceptional service performance. The position requires strong expertise in mobile core technologies, signaling protocols, KPI analysis, and incident management. You will contribute to strategic network projects, capacity expansions, performance enhancement initiatives, and service assurance activities within a dynamic and fast‑paced telecommunications environment. Key Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and optimize Ericsson EPC and 5G Core network elements.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify service‑affecting issues.
• Troubleshoot PS Core faults across signaling, subscriber sessions, and data services.
• Analyze network KPIs and implement optimization measures to improve customer experience.
• Support integration, testing, and commissioning of new Packet Core and 5GC features.
• Investigate and resolve complex incidents involving MME, EPG, SAPC, PCC/PCG, and SMF/UPF platforms.
• Perform protocol‑level analysis using tools such as Wireshark and Ericsson diagnostic utilities.
• Collaborate with OSS, BSS, IP, RAN, and transmission teams to resolve cross‑domain issues.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Prepare technical reports, root cause analyses (RCA), and operational documentation.
• Support software upgrades, change management activities, and network modernization projects.
• Ensure compliance with operational processes, network security standards, and service‑level objectives.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4 to 8 years of hands‑on experience in PS Core, EPC, or 5G Core network environments.
• Strong operational experience with Ericsson MME/SGSN‑MME, EPG, PCC/PCG, SAPC, and SMF/UPF platforms.
• In‑depth knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G network architecture and call flows.
• Strong understanding of GTP‑C, GTP‑U, Diameter, Radius, HTTP/2, SIP, SCTP, TCP/IP, and UDP protocols.
• Experience working in Ericsson CLI environments and troubleshooting tools.
• Hands‑on experience with OSS/BSS integrations and Ericsson platforms such as ENM and ENIQ.
• Proven expertise in PS Core troubleshooting, performance optimization, and KPI analysis.
• Experience supporting critical incidents and performing root cause investigations.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native and virtualized telecom environments.
• Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi‑vendor and cross‑functional telecom environment.
