Detailed Job Description

As a Field Core Support Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support of Ericsson Core Network platforms and supporting infrastructure. You will work across mobile core technologies, cloud-native platforms, virtualization environments, and data center infrastructure to ensure high service availability and operational reliability. The successful candidate will support hardware diagnostics, software troubleshooting, network recovery activities, and field operations while working closely with operations teams and customers. Key Responsibilities

• Install, support, and troubleshoot Ericsson Core Network systems across 2G, 4G, and 5G environments.
• Support Ericsson Packet Core nodes including EPG, MME, and SAPC platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting core network services and infrastructure.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, fault isolation, and board replacement activities.
• Support APZ and APG platform maintenance and recovery procedures.
• Execute hardware replacement verification (HRV) and post-maintenance testing activities.
• Manage and troubleshoot Ericsson CNIS and NFVI infrastructure components.
• Support containerized and cloud-native environments running on Red Hat OpenShift.
• Utilize CELLO, MO-Shell, Linux, and Wireshark tools for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Support fiber-optic connectivity troubleshooting using VFLs, optical power meters, and testing equipment.
• Participate in data center operations, infrastructure maintenance, and service restoration activities.
• Collaborate with operations, field support, and engineering teams to ensure service continuity.
• Maintain technical documentation, maintenance records, and support reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting Ericsson Core Network environments.
• Proven expertise in Ericsson Core technologies across 2G, 4G, and 5G networks.
• Experience supporting:
• EPG (Evolved Packet Gateway)
• MME (Mobility Management Entity)
• SAPC (Service-Aware Policy Controller)
• Knowledge of VAS and Intelligent Network (IN) environments.
• Experience with Ericsson CNIS and NFVI platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).
• Experience with Linux operating systems and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of data center operations and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of hardware diagnostics and fault management.
• Experience supporting enterprise platforms from HPE, Dell, Cisco, Juniper, and SAN environments.
• Familiarity with fiber-optic troubleshooting methodologies and test equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong English communication skills.
• High level of commitment, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.
