Job summary

Parsons Corporation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Roads Design Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to provide technical review and design support for highway, junction, and interchange packages within a major PMO.

You will coordinate with structural, drainage, utilities, traffic, and landscape teams to ensure geometry, pavement concepts, safety provisions, and construction sequencing meet standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in road and highway design.
• Strong background in major highways, junctions, interchanges, and associated infrastructure.
• Proven experience in geometric road design covering horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, cross-sections, and junction layouts.
• Strong understanding of applicable local and international highway design standards.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing third-party consultant designs and preparing structured technical comments.
• Practical knowledge of pavement design principles and road safety engineering.
• Background in concept development and value engineering for road infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Review concept and detailed road design drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations prepared by third-party consultants.
• Evaluate highway layouts with emphasis on geometry, safety, constructability, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
• Review horizontal and vertical alignments, cross-sections, junction layouts, and interchange arrangements.
• Assess interfaces between roads, bridges, drainage systems, utilities, traffic infrastructure, landscape, and adjacent development.
• Develop conceptual road, junction, and interchange options to support PMO and Client decisions.
• Prepare high-level geometric solutions and compare layouts against requirements.
• Contribute to value engineering studies for highway and interchange packages.
• Identify opportunities to optimize road geometry, pavement solutions, safety measures, and construction efficiency.
