Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Embedded Linux Senior Software Engineer focused on optimisation based in Saudi Arabia. The role involves optimizing the Linux stack across kernel, system software, middleware, and applications for next-generation hardware platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware partners and specialists across IoT, server, desktop, and edge technologies to deliver high-performance Linux experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience developing software for Linux-based environments across embedded, IoT, desktop, or server platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Linux packaging technologies such as Debian, RPM, or Yocto.
• Strong programming experience in C and C++.
• Experience with open-source communities, development practices, and software licensing.
• Strong understanding of Linux systems and cross-layer knowledge.
• Experience working with distributed teams and effective communication skills.
• Experience with graphics stacks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized Linux integrations for IoT, embedded, desktop, and server-class hardware platforms.
• Collaborate with hardware/tech partners to deliver high-performance Linux experiences.
• Lead technical engagements spanning cloud, edge, hardware, OS, and applications.
• Assist customers with application integration, SDK adoption, and OS image creation.
• Work across the full Linux stack from low-level components to middleware and GUIs.
• Investigate and resolve performance, compatibility, and platform issues across configurations.
• Coordinate with distributed teams to integrate new platform features and performance enhancements.
• Contribute to open-source projects and maintain high-quality packaging practices.
