Qualifications

In this critical network operations leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing subsea cable systems, Ciena 6500 platforms, Infinera DTN transport systems, and advanced DWDM, OTN, ROADM, and IP/MPLS infrastructures. Detailed Job Description:

As a NOC Lead supporting advanced subsea cable and optical transmission operations in Riyadh via Nityo Infotech, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of network operations center (NOC) performance, incident escalation, and optical transport infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing Ciena 6500 and Infinera DTN platforms, supervising DWDM, OTN, and ROADM optical networks, and maintaining IP/MPLS routing and NMS systems. You will lead a team of network engineers in troubleshooting complex subsea cable connectivity issues, coordinating with international cable landing stations, and managing datacenter interconnect services. Furthermore, you will establish operational runbooks, enforce strict SLA compliance, drive incident resolution workflows, and collaborate closely with telecommunications carriers and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, overseeing 24/7 monitoring, incident triage, and escalation.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Ciena 6500 optical platforms and Subsea Cable systems (mandatory requirement).
• Administer and manage Infinera DTN transport platforms, DWDM, OTN, and ROADM optical architectures.
• Ensure high availability and performance of IP/MPLS core networks and Network Management Systems (NMS).
• Oversee datacenter and high-capacity connectivity services, ensuring strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
• Investigate and resolve complex subsea cable faults, optical dispersion issues, and transmission degradation.
• Coordinate seamlessly with global telecommunications carriers, cable consortiums, and onsite field engineering teams.
• Establish operational metrics, shift rosters, escalation matrices, and incident reporting dashboards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in telecommunications network operations, optical transport, or NOC leadership.
• Expert practical proficiency and mandatory experience with Ciena 6500 optical platforms and Subsea Cable systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infinera DTN transport systems and advanced DWDM, OTN, and ROADM technologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of IP/MPLS routing protocols, switching, and Network Management Systems (NMS).
• Proven experience managing datacenter infrastructure and high-capacity connectivity services.
• Mandatory current local residency in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (open to candidates of any nationality).
• Excellent leadership, crisis management, and technical communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Advanced vendor certifications (e.g., Ciena Certified Professional, Nokia Routing Architect, Cisco CCNP/CCIE Service Provider).
• Prior experience in submarine cable landing station (CLS) operations and wet plant maintenance.
• Familiarity with Python/Ansible network automation and telemetry monitoring tools.
• Master’s degree in Telecommunications or Optical Engineering.
