M&R Supervisor

We are searching for an experienced M&R Supervisor at our MEDLOG Saudi Arabia - Ad Dammam facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Container Inspection & Assessment: • Supervise routine inspection of incoming and outgoing containers. • Assess damages and determine repair requirements as per IICL or shipping line standards. • Ensure proper documentation of inspection results in the system.
  • Repair & Maintenance Oversight: • Oversee repair works including panel replacement, welding, flooring, painting, and structural fixes. • Monitor reefer container maintenance, temperature checks, and pre‑trip inspections (PTI). • Verify that all repairs meet quality and safety standards. • Ensure availability of spare parts and materials required for maintenance.
  • Staff Supervision: • Lead and manage technicians, welders, painters, and reefer mechanics. • Assign daily tasks and monitor staff productivity. • Conduct training sessions for technicians on repair methods and safety requirements. • Evaluate staff performance and maintain discipline.
  • Safety Compliance: • Enforce all HSE regulations and safe working practices in the workshop area. • Address unsafe conditions immediately and report incidents to management. • Conduct safety briefings and ensure PPE usage.
  • Coordination & Communication: • Coordinate with terminal operations, shipping lines, and depot teams regarding repair status. • Follow up on urgent repairs required for load‑out or yard operations. • Ensure accurate reporting of repair costs and work orders for client billing.
  • Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain records of repaired containers, repair costs, and labor used. • Update repair status in the Terminal Operating System (TOS) or maintenance software. • Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports for management review.
  • Quality Assurance: • Ensure all repairs comply with IICL, ISO, and shipping line standards. • Conduct random quality inspections of completed repair work. • Implement continuous improvement methods to enhance repair efficiency and reduce repair times.
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in IICL (Institute of International Container Lessors) standards is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of container inspection and repair standards (IICL, ISO, shipping line requirements).
  • Experience in structural repairs: welding, panel replacement, flooring, painting.
  • Familiarity with reefer container maintenance, including PTI (Pre‑Trip Inspection) and temperature control.
  • Ability to use Terminal Operating Systems (TOS) or maintenance software for documentation and reporting.
Experience
  • 5+ years in container maintenance and repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Hands‑on experience managing repair workshops and overseeing technicians, welders, and reefer mechanics.
Leadership & Management
  • Proven ability to lead teams, assign tasks, and monitor productivity.
  • Skilled in training staff on repair methods and safety compliance.
  • Strong disciplinary and performance evaluation capabilities.
Safety & Compliance
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and ability to enforce safe working practices.
  • Experience conducting safety briefings and ensuring PPE compliance.
