Qualifications

Job description
Overview

Job Purpose : To ensure the continuous and efficient operation of all electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data centre. The role involves monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response to support mission-critical systems in a high-availability environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH units, and BMS.
  • Respond to alarms and faults, diagnose root causes, and implement corrective actions to restore normal operations.
  • Execute and verify preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as per SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs.
  • Conduct site inspections, walk-throughs, and BMS monitoring to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Supervise and coordinate with vendors and contractors during major maintenance or installation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially when working with energized equipment.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new systems and upgrades.
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in data centre or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including MV / LV electrical systems, chillers, pumps, and fuel systems.
  • Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards and TIA-942-B.
  • Proficiency in BMS and CAFM systems.
  • Experience with LOTO procedures, emergency shutdowns, and redundancy management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
  • Willingness to work in shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
Preferred Skills
  • CAD / Revit proficiency for reviewing and updating technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ASHRAE, IEC).
