Summary

Assists in providing medical care in the field of Critical Care, and supervises interns and residents, in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Hospital’s policies and procedures

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Assists the Consultant in providing required patient care and management in the field of Critical Care, in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by the Hospital.
  • Provides high-quality patient care in all aspects of Critical Care according to his/her approved clinical privileges.
  • Provides consultation (inpatient, and emergency room) upon request and responds in a timely manner within the prescribed timeframe as outlined in the Hospital’spolicy.
  • Responsible for the timely completion, competencies, accuracy and legibility of the medical record.
  • Provideson-call service and ensures availability and response time within theprescribed timeframe in accordance with Hospital policy.
  • Conducts dailymorning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge. Ensures that dischargeorders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
  • Performs other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty, as assigned.
Academic Responsibilities
  • Provides orientation, bedside training and supervision to interns, residents and fellows as assigned.
  • Participatesin department’s educational activities and training programs of the department.Partakes in national and international medical conferences.
  • Maintains and enhances professional knowledge and continuing education requirements.
Education

Graduation from a medical school in good standing, completion of required period of postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee.

Experience Required

Two (2) years of training in specialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience required.
