Job Summary
The Accommodation Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of the living quarters and housekeeping operations. They serve as the bridge between the management team and the ground staff (cleaners, laundry personnel), ensuring that all rooms and communal areas are hygienic, safe, and ready for occupancy. The goal is to ensure high resident satisfaction while maintaining strict control over cleaning supplies and assets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
- Room Allocation: Manage the "Check-in/Check-out" process for new arrivals and departures. Ensure rooms are inspected and ready prior to new residents arriving.
- Inspections: Conduct daily spot checks of bedrooms, bathrooms, dining halls, and recreation rooms to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Maintenance Coordination: Act as the primary reporter of defects. Log maintenance issues (AC failure, plumbing leaks, broken furniture) and follow-up with the maintenance team to ensure repairs are completed within agreed timelines.
- Laundry Services: Oversee the collection, washing, and redistribution of bed linen, towels, and resident personal laundry.
2. Staff Supervision
- Rostering: Prepare shift schedules for room boys, cleaners, and laundry staff to ensure adequate coverage 24/7.
- Training: Train new staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including bed-making techniques, chemical handling, and hygiene protocols.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor the speed and quality of cleaning staff; provide feedback or disciplinary action if standards drop.
3. Inventory & Cost Control
- Stock Management: Maintain a log of cleaning chemicals, toiletries, and bed linen.
- Requisition: Submit monthly requests for supplies to the Camp Boss/Manager to prevent shortages.
- Asset Management: Regular counting of furniture, mattresses, and electronics to prevent theft or loss.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance (HSE)
- Hygiene Standards: Enforce strict hygiene protocols to prevent the spread of illness.
- Chemical Safety: Ensure all cleaning chemicals are stored correctly with visible MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets).
- Pest Control: Report signs of pests (bed bugs, rodents) immediately and coordinate with pest control contractors.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping or facility supervision (Hotels, Hospitals, or Remote Camps).
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
- IT Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for creating reports and rosters.
