The Senior Corrosion Engineer is part of the Asia-Pacific Materials Integrity team based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur. The role provides engineering support to Capital Projects and Operations across all business lines. We are expanding our organization and are seeking experienced individuals with an innovative mindset to drive change in a dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global team.

We are looking for an experienced individual who will play a key role in technical engineering decisions. Key deliverables include:

• Provide engineering surveillance and technical support to the business for materials-related works
• Apply deep technical expertise and broad business acumen to solve more complex problems
• Develop and implement new technology and innovative solutions to non-routine problems
• Provide materials specialist support for large capital projects and smaller regional projects to ensure technical quality
• Participate in global and site-wide programs aimed at improving unit reliability and optimizing maintenance
• Provide on-site field support during scheduled maintenance activities
• Represent ExxonMobil in industry and external engagement activities where appropriate
• Mentor early career materials integrity engineers to support their career development

• Advise the development of equipment strategies and integrity operating windows involving higher complexity corrosion mechanisms
• Collaborate with other disciplines to recommend corrective actions, upgrade integrity programs and equipment strategies
• Provide analysis and interpretation of corrosion data from various sources to support global business units and manufacturing sites
• Lead the design of fit-for-purpose corrosion monitoring programs for facilities and review detailed designs for corrosion monitoring equipment
• Perform risk assessments, root cause failure analysis and provide recommendations for corrosion or erosion threats
• Perform or supervise predictive corrosion modelling with modelling tools and basic corrosion calculations

• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve integrity management systems for new projects and existing operations
• Execute and continually improve in-field integrity execution plans, applying Integrity Management System tools and standards
• Apply fitness-for-service methods to pipelines and static equipment for corrosion and damage assessment
• Facilitate medium to high complexity reliability investigations

Skills and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry
• Demonstrate work experience and knowledge in one or more areas: Asset Integrity Management; Materials selection; Failure Analysis; Corrosion control
• Hold Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree or PhD in Materials Engineering
