Job summary
A leading logistics firm in Ipoh is seeking a logistics coordinator to manage physical shipment verification and documentation. The role requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and at least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and be adept at problem-solving. The job is onsite and entails negotiation of freight and coordination with couriers and customers.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in shipping/logistics in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- PC literacy and knowledge in warehousing or logistics management.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Verify physical shipments and release to forwarder.
- Coordinate shipment documents for customs declaration.
- Negotiate freight for shipments above 250 kgs.
- Resolve queries from customers and couriers.
Skills
Education
- Physical Shipment verification (shipment box labels/ shipping documents) and shipment release to forwarder
- Send booking confirmation to nominated forwarder for shipment under Ex-works & FCA/ FOB
- Monitor shipped shipments based on Fedex/ DHL pending list
- Resolve and reply to queries from Courier/ customer/ Forwarders.
- Co-ordinate & Send shipping documents to forwarders/ courier express for custom declaration before cut-off time.
- Coordinate with Inside Sales/ Planners for Customer Special Request (Palletization, Arrival Ship Notice, Oracle Transportation Management System Entry)
- Attend to audit request for retrieval of shipping documents
- Verifying Billing Invoice from forwarders
- Sourcing and Negotiation of Freight for shipment above 250 kgs
- Segregation and Sorting of Approved Custom Form for Filing
- Any other ad-hoc request as directed by superior from time to time.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalents with at least 02 years of relevant work experience in shipping/ logistics in a MNC with high mix high volume manufacturing environment. (functional skills)
- Must be PC literate in spreadsheet applications, knowledgeable & experience in warehousing or logistics management will be an added advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and reporting of information/data.
- Possess logical thinking and analytical thinking skills.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp internally or externally.
