About the Role

Were looking for a WordPress / Web Developer to take ownership of Smart Workings digital presence - from maintaining and optimizing our current WordPress platform to helping shape the next-generation marketing website. Youll collaborate closely with marketing, design, and content teams to build fast, scalable, and high-performing web experiences that drive lead generation, brand storytelling, and growth. This role is ideal for someone who writes clean, efficient code, communicates clearly, and thrives in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Smart Workings marketing website, ensuring performance, scalability, and SEO best practices.
• Develop new landing pages and microsites to support campaigns, content, and growth initiatives.
• Build pixel-perfect, responsive frontends based on Figma designs.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, and content teams to translate ideas into seamless digital experiences.
• Implement integrations, analytics, and tracking tools (e.g., HubSpot, GA4).
• Manage our codebase using Git & GitHub Actions.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of WordPress experience, including custom themes & plugins.
• Minimum 2 years of using ACF & ACF Blocks to create WordPress themes.
• Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong knowledge of Tailwind CSS or similar frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Basic knowledge of MySQL and custom database queries.
• Basic knowledge of or REST APIs.
• Basic knowledge of website performance optimization.
• Basic knowledge of technical SEO.
• Ability to work with Figma designs.
• Ability to integrate with external APIs and marketing tools (HubSpot, GTM, GA4).
• Attention to details and self-organized working style.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of TypeScript.
• Knowledge of Roots stack concepts (Bedrock / Sage).
• Familiarity with WordPress VIP coding standards.
• Experience with development tooling (Vite, ESLint, Prettier).
• Experience with AI-assisted coding (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT).
• Basic knowledge of UX good practices and conversion rate optimization.
