WordPress Developer / SEO Specialist (University Students & Voluntary Contributors, Unpaid position)

Do you have a passion for digital development, web optimization, and building systems that help meaningful content reach a wider audience? Stratos Research is a student‑built economic and financial research platform that aims to make complex topics accessible and insightful. We are looking for motivated individuals—primarily university students or voluntary contributors—to support the technical evolution of our project.

We provide a unique chance to gain valuable experience, build a professional portfolio, and contribute to the backbone of a growing digital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

We are currently seeking two technical profiles. Candidates who can cover both skill sets are highly encouraged, but we welcome specialists as well.

• WordPress Developer: Move our current website from Google Sites to a fully functional, customized WordPress platform; design and implement a new website; ensure stable performance, aesthetic design, and clean architecture; create an intuitive structure for research articles and reports; collaborate with the team to align the website with our publications. Once the site is operational, next steps will involve integration of our newsletter.
• SEO Specialist: After the website is migrated and stable, enhance visibility and build a real digital presence by applying SEO best practices; refine article structure, improve URLs and on‑page elements; ensure proper content indexing; provide ongoing suggestions to improve discoverability of the platform.

Qualifications

Awesome fit if you are: a university student or early‑career professional in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Marketing or related fields; comfortable with WordPress development (themes, structure, plugins, basic design); familiar with SEO tools and principles; interested in contributing to a collaborative, research‑driven environment. Ideal candidates can contribute to both areas, but we welcome applicants specialized in one.
