Key Responsabilities
  • Contribute at the supply all utilities to the Site and perform mechanical maintenance activities for Utilities, managing assigned personnel and/or external resources.
  • Develop and implement mechanical maintenance strategies for Utilities in alignment with site objectives defined within Maintenance Foundation.
  • Contribute to implement energy efficiency initiatives and long-term projects to help the site achieve its energy targets.
  • Manage mechanical risks within Utilities to ensure all critical EHS/Quality and business risks are appropriately addressed according to company procedures.
  • Contribute to manage the Utilities budget to ensure objectives are met through continuous expense tracking.
  • Oversee all non-GMP areas to ensure audit readiness and compliance with the standards
  • Ensure that all mechanical systems within Utilities are managed in accordance with company engineering and EHS standards, and that these standards are incorporated into maintenance procedures and work orders.
  • Ensure that all legal requirements related to mechanical maintenance, as well as the operation of Utilities systems, are fully respected, and that all necessary documentation is kept up-to-date and readily available.
  • Ensure that all team personnel are properly trained, that training needs for the department are regularly assessed, and that training sessions are consistently conducted within the team.
  • Ensure that the department operates in full compliance with GMP and EHS requirements through the completion of Level 1 and Level 2 audits.
  • Supervise the execution of preventive, corrective, and extraordinary maintenance activities within Utilities, in compliance with site procedures and current operational instructions, involving external resources when necessary.
  • Ensure the definition and execution of the overall preventive maintenance plan.
  • Coordinate, define, and implement engineering and standardization projects related to machines or systems within the Utilities area, as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to perform root cause analysis of recurring technical issues on systems and equipment, with the goal of increasing reliability, leveraging technical expertise and analytical skills to identify and address “bad actors.”
  • Collaborate with the direct supervisor and the Engineering team in defining technical specifications for the purchase of new Utilities systems.
  • Promptly report all EHS/Quality issues, including near misses, ensuring proper problem analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible, through team members, for the organization of maintenance teams and define their shift schedules.
  • Responsible for monitoring compliance by workers with current regulations and company policies regarding workplace safety and hygiene, as well as the use of collective protective equipment and personal protective devices. Accountable for the health and safety of individuals reporting to them and those who may be affected by their actions or omissions.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering: Preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Experience managing a team and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Significant experience of at least 5 years in managing Utilities maintenance within modern industrial environments, preferably in pharmaceutical, chemical, or fast-moving consumer goods companies.
  • A mix of hands‑on training, academic background, and experience in the role is essential to effectively interact with a complex and critical system such as Utilities maintenance in a highly regulated environment like pharmaceutical manufacturing.
