Role Description

As a Technical Analyst at Capco, you will play a key role in supporting IT projects within the Financial Services industry, with a focus on producing and reviewing technical documentation and ensuring alignment between development and functional requirements. With a background in software development, you will bring your hands-on experience in COBOL, Java, and SQL to assess the feasibility and completeness of proposed solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support the overall quality and maintainability of deliverables.

We are open to both full-time and freelance collaborations.

As part of the consulting team, the Technical Analyst will:

  • Draft, review, and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, architecture diagrams, and integration documents.
  • Conduct technical reviews of deliverables to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with developers, functional analysts, and architects to clarify technical approaches and ensure traceability of requirements.
  • Identify and communicate risks or inconsistencies in technical implementations.
  • Support development and testing phases with technical insight and troubleshooting when required.
Skills and Experience

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Technical Analyst or similar role in IT projects (preferably in Financial Services).
  • Solid hands-on experience with COBOL, Java and SQL.
  • Proven ability to read, write, and understand complex technical documentation.
  • Experience collaborating with both technical and functional teams in structured project environments.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes and tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA).
