System Engineer - Railway Sector

TMC is seeking a motivated and results‑oriented System Engineer to join our team dedicated to the development and management of complex railway systems.

About This Vacancy

The selected candidate will be involved in all phases of the system lifecycle – from requirements definition to final validation – working closely with multidisciplinary teams and international clients.

Role and Responsibilities

• Analyze system requirements and define technical architecture.
• Draft technical specifications and system documentation.
• Coordinate integration and verification activities of subsystems.
• Support hardware and software design in railway applications (e.g., signaling, train control, telecommunications).
• Manage interfaces between onboard and trackside subsystems.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure compliance with railway standards (e.g., CENELEC EN 50126/8/9).
• Participate in laboratory and field testing (FAT, SAT, V&V).
• Contribute to functional safety management and risk assessment.

What We Expect From You

• Master’s Degree in Electronic, Computer, Telecommunications, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2–5 years of experience in similar roles within the railway sector or related industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive, defense).
• Knowledge of railway standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129).
• Experience with modeling tools (e.g., SysML, UML).
• Familiarity with software development environments and simulation tools.
• Basic understanding of embedded systems, electronics, and communication protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and ability to manage complex projects.
• Good command of English and Italian (written and spoken).
