Overview

Stage Acquisti - Base metals junior Buyer

Join to apply for the Stage Acquisti- Base metals junior Buyer role at Prysmian. Prysmian Purchasing function is looking for an intern to join as a Junior Buyer in the Base Metals team.

Main Tasks

• Support the inbound Supply Chain management of aluminium and copper rod for all the group plants in Europe, based on negotiated contracts. Receive the demand from the plants, check its consistency with Logistics HQ, allocate to contracted suppliers, and optimise Prysmian's spending within contractual obligations, supplier capacity, and lead times. Operational activity carried out under the supervision of a senior team member.
• Management of the administrative cycle of metal supply: call-off to suppliers, order management in SAP, management of variations and extras, updates to internal databases.
• Expediting of suppliers to keep alignment with plants.

Who we are looking for

• Education: Engineering or economics degree (including a three-year degree).
• Experience: not required, but prior experience in purchasing / logistics is a plus.
• Personal characteristics: analytical mindset, high accuracy, organization, methodical, ability to work under stress, customer-oriented towards internal customers.
• IT skills: proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); knowledge of SAP is a plus; ability to learn new software.
• Language skills: excellent spoken and written English for daily interface with affiliates and suppliers.
• Financial knowledge: knowledge of derivative contracts and price risk instruments is a plus.

The person, after a period of training, will support the team dedicated to the supply chain and will work under the direct responsibility of the Base Metal Head.
