A global engineering firm is seeking a Senior Project Controller in Castellanza, Italy. You will support the Project Manager, oversee cost control systems, and ensure financial movements are accurately reported. The ideal candidate has a Master's degree, 7-10 years of experience in the heavy industrial sector, and is fluent in English. Experience with SAP is preferred. This role may require travel to project sites.

Competenze

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a Project Controller in large heavy industrial, Oil & Gas or Infrastructure EPC contracting.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.
• Knowledge of German is a plus.

Senior Project Controller

We are looking for a professional willing to join our Project Controlling department. You will sustain the Company’s financial accounting by preparing reports and controlling activities, ensuring that they are carried out efficiently and in line with best practices.

You will work with the Project Control Manager and the Project Control Team in controlling the projects, envisioning and promptly suggesting corrective and improving actions in line with corporate procedures and working instructions.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager and other functions as a business partner
• Prepare the Cost Control System for new projects: Order Intake, Project Work Breakdown Structure, Execution Budget together with the Project Manager
• Prepare and present Project Control Reports to Management following the Project Review Cycle and ensuring deadlines are met
• Check the progress of financials (actual and committed costs) relative to physical progress, updated time schedule, risk, opportunities and technical performance
• Prepare with the Project Manager the best estimation to complete costs, billing, cash‑in, guarantees, hedges
• Control and maintain full knowledge of all financial movements within the project scope, ensuring they are accurately reported
• Enter and maintain project budgets, forecasts and actuals in the ERP system
• In Multi‑BU projects, coordinate with other Project Controllers to build the consolidated view
• Update the project lifespan forecast quarterly together with the Project Manager and interact with the controlling area for budget and forecast preparation

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Management Engineering or Economics
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a Project Controller in large heavy industrial, Oil & Gas or Infrastructure EPC contracting with an international company
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of German is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with SAP
• Willingness to travel, including to project sites
• Proactive, committed and solution/results driven
• Strong autonomous and organizational skills / time management
• Ability to adapt and manage change
