IMI Remosa, a long-established leader in the petrochemical sector and part of IMI Group, specializes in the design and manufacturing of valves, actuators, and hydraulic control systems for refinery and petrochemical plants.

As part of our strategic expansion, we are now developing and industrializing electrolyzer technologies for green hydrogen production.

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Engineering Department in Uta (Cagliari, Sardinia) and contribute directly to the design, optimization, and safety of our next-generation electrolysis systems.

Role Overview

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in process engineering within industrial or plant environments. In this role, you will support the development of advanced hydrogen electrolysis systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with international safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and optimization of processes for electrolysis plants.
  • Sizing of process components (valves, heat exchangers, piping, etc.).
  • Design and integration of AC/DC power conversion systems.
  • Preparation and review of technical documentation (P&ID, datasheets, specifications).
  • Conducting safety analyses and participating in HAZOP and risk assessments.
  • Collaboration with automation teams for PLC-based control systems.
  • Implementation and verification of SIL-compliant safety instrumented systems.
  • Support during commissioning and start-up phases.
  • Technical coordination with suppliers and customers.
  • Worldwide service activities for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Technical Requirements
  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years of process engineering experience in industrial plants.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
  • Process component sizing
  • PLC-based control systems
  • SIL standards and practices
  • HAZOP methodologies
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)

  • Background in energy storage or renewable integration.
  • Safety certifications (e.g., Functional Safety Engineer).
