About this opportunity

As a Senior OFCI Project Manager, you will lead the coordination and delivery of Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) elements for a major data centre project. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Based on site, you will act as a key interface between Gleeds, the client, contractors, and vendors, driving project success through proactive risk management and strategic oversight.

This role is based in Sines, Portugal (5 days per week). No rotation or fly-in/fly-out arrangement applies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that project management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements and business procedures.
  • Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent or Project Manager.
  • Building a network of vendors, contractors and consultants.
  • Participating in development and implementation of procurement and delivery strategy for the OFCI deliverable.
  • Ensuring the quality and compliance of the equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning, in accordance with the project specifications, budget, and schedule.
  • Working closely with vendors to ensure on‑time delivery and installation of project critical equipment.
  • Monitoring and controlling the progress of equipment’s delivery, installation and commissioning on‑site.
  • Taking regular site walks to promote and observe safety and progress, report and track any corrective actions through to timely completion.
  • Monitoring on‑ and off‑site works, recording and reporting non-conforming work and driving the team for follow‑up, preventative and close‑out actions.
  • Ensuring that the equipment installation is fully coordinated and optimised to eliminate wasteful activity on site.
  • Preparing and monitoring technical submittions.
  • Assisting in the change management process, the review and assessment of proposed variations in the works and of any actual or anticipated delays to the progress of the works.
  • Working with the appointed general contractor to ensure that appropriate method statements are in place and signed off by the relevant parties in advance of installation.
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
  • OFCI management experience working on data centre construction projects.
  • Sound knowledge of equipment relating to Data Centres.
  • Knowledge of industry standards.
  • Experience managing the procurement, installation and commissioning of critical equipment on large-scale construction projects.
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Available to work in Sines 5 days per week (no rotation applies).
