Senior Consultant SAP MM

IBM’s SAP MM Senior Consultant role offers an opportunity to work with clients across multiple industries, improving their hybrid cloud, AI journey, and supply‑chain performance.

Location: Milan, Lombardy, Italy.

Responsibilities

• Act as a client‑facing practitioner and team leader, delivering high‑quality SAP MM solutions and serving as a trusted advisor.
• Lead projects that optimize procurement, inventory management, logistics, and material planning to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Design, develop, and implement SAP MM solutions that are simple, scalable, and aligned with client needs.
• Drive strategy definition and solution implementation, leveraging the latest technologies to deliver measurable business value.
• Guide clients in process optimization, change management, and adoption of SAP best practices.
• Coordinate and mentor team members, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

• Hands‑on experience in SAP MM configuration, including designing, configuring, and deploying SAP MM solutions.
• Proven track record of at least three full end‑to‑end SAP MM implementations covering all project phases.
• Experience as a consultant, senior consultant, or solution architect, with ability to guide junior team members.
• Deep understanding of SAP MM processes: procurement, inventory management, material valuation, logistics invoice verification, external services management, and integration with FI, SD, PP, WM.
• Ability to analyze and optimize supply‑chain and procurement processes following SAP best practices.

Preferred Technical & Professional Experience

• Familiarity with S/4HANA advanced features such as Embedded Analytics, Fiori apps, and Advanced Procurement.
• Experience with Material Ledger integration and Group Reporting in MM.
• Exposure to digital transformation initiatives and process automation projects.
• Experience coordinating cross‑functional teams (FI, SD, PP, WM) beyond core MM processes.
• Prior mentoring experience for junior consultants.
• Knowledge of SAP CDS views and custom reporting development for MM.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration projects.
• Understanding of industry‑specific MM processes (e.g., retail, manufacturing, pharma).
• Ability to provide thought leadership in procurement or inventory strategy.
• International project experience or multi‑country implementations.
• Good English communication skills, particularly for client‑facing roles and international projects.
