Job Summary
At The Westin Excelsior Rome, we are looking for a Senior Cluster Information Technology Specialist, reporting to the Multi-Property IT Manager. Contributes advanced knowledge and skill in technology and general hospitality business knowledge to support the assigned property(ies) and technology information technology resources objectives. Implements and monitors systems and manages information technology resources compliance requirements. Manages all property technology planning, decision‑making, implementation, maintenance, and disposal. Engages with technology partners, owners, executive committee, and property staff to understand business needs/issues and formulate information technology (IT) related solutions. Manages property internet support and communicates effectively with all stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
- Hospitality Management or related education, awareness of global hospitality technology trends, experience in assignments at international locations. Back of the house and guest facing operational and technical experience with hospitality management systems. Minimum 1 year in an Associate Supervisory role. OR
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and 1 year project management experience. Solid technical knowledge on Server and Active Directory Architecture and Security implementation, Windows Server Operating System and Active Directory, Desktop Operating iT and Desktop Management (GPO), Outlook email and approved mobile devices, IT organization and resources available, LAN Networks. Understanding of the company’s technical standards and policies. Competent written and spoken English skills, demonstrated leadership, project management, organizational skills, negotiation skills.

- Build and maintain positive and effective relations with all stakeholders, including property associates, regional IT, and technology partners.
- Meet all IT technology partners servicing the property on a routine and ad hoc basis.
- Verify effective induction program for new associates or those in new or different roles.
- Cover the cluster leader’s functions during absence.
- Perform performance reviews on a timely basis and allocate sufficient time, research, and effort to ensure the process benefits the development of associates.
- Ensure adequate communication, training, and execution of all talent‑development programs and related initiatives.
- Build and maintain positive and effective relations with direct team members.
- Maintain IT related inventory for the assigned properties/offices in cluster.
- Manage backups and technology disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Generate systems communications for property users to provide user tips, alert users of system problems, and inform staff of progress or status.
- Monitor effective flow of issue management among Continent Support Desk, technology partners, and cluster organizations.
- Attend bi‑weekly regional IT calls.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Provide end‑user support for all LAN and WAN based applications.
- Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to LAN and WAN, including batch monitoring, tape backup, and restoration.
- Ensure that the temperature in the computer and telephone rooms remains below 68 °F.
- Perform LAN and WAN security procedures, including implementing login requests.
- Maintain and configure servers (e.g., MICROS, RS6000, OPERA, Delphi), including collaborating with other personnel to determine server content.
- Install, configure, and manage computer networks, support server system(s), and supporting software.
- Determine specific network hardware or software requirements, such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, upgrades, protocol changes/implementation, and user network communication requirements.
- Review, plan, and evaluate network systems, providing tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and recommending resources required to maintain and/or expand service levels.
- Provide network communications support and assist with the implementation of office systems.
- Maintain and upgrade hardware and software, including peripherals (e.g., printers, scanners) and website technical architecture related to hardware and telecommunication connectivity.
- Plan and manage disk space for entire network.
- Perform testing and analysis of network facilities, including power, links, software, communications devices, lines, modems, and terminals.
- Install and modify application programs.
- Troubleshoot, modify, support, and maintain application programs.
