We're looking for a Senior Business Developer to join our team as we scale up to become the global leader in autonomous operations for space missions.

In this role, you will focus on creating and developing business opportunities for AIKO’s cutting-edge AI and autonomy technologies, particularly within the Earth Observation (EO) sector. Your mission will be to drive commercial traction for AIKO’s on-board AI applications, enabling real-time data processing and autonomous decision-making directly in orbit.

You will lead the sourcing and conversion of opportunities into national and international sales contracts, establish strategic partnerships, and raise awareness about AIKO’s capabilities in the rapidly evolving EO market.

As AIKO expands its international footprint, the Senior Business Developer will play a key role in shaping go-to-market strategies and supporting the establishment of new offices and commercial outposts.

Tasks
  1. Identify and secure business opportunities in the Earth Observation domain aligned with our vision of automation of space operations.
  2. Drive customer engagement for AIKO’s flight software products, particularly those enabling autonomous payload operations and AI-based on-board processing.
  3. Manage and grow AIKO’s commercial portfolio of clients across public and private sectors.
  4. Establish and nurture long-term relationships with space agencies, satellite operators, primes, and commercial EO customers.
  5. Research market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities in the EO sector.
  6. Plan and oversee targeted outreach and marketing campaigns tailored to the EO and AI communities.
  7. Represent AIKO at international events, trade fairs, and technical conferences.
  8. Collaborate with technical teams to align customer requirements with product roadmaps and proposal strategies.
  9. Support the definition of business goals and commercial KPIs, ensuring their achievement.
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of business development experience in the space sector, with a proven track record in Earth Observation or space-based data services.
  • Demonstrated ability to close contracts or secure funding at or above the €1M level.
  • Deep understanding of the EO value chain, and familiarity with satellite missions, data exploitation, and downstream applications.
  • Passion for innovation in the space industry, particularly in AI and autonomy for on-board operations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and engage with international stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written).
Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with technical topics relevant for the position, such as on-board software systems, data processing pipelines, and AI/ML concepts.
  • Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business value for customers.
  • Solid analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Previous experience in a startup or scale-up environment is a plus.
