Overview

Project Manager R&D (F / M) - Italy, Bovezzo - Full time. Air Liquide Medical Systems srl, part of the Air Liquide Group, is the medical devices business line focused on respiratory treatments. The company develops, manufactures and sells innovative products in three areas of respiratory medicine: Ventilation (ventilators and patient interface devices for intensive care, emergency, transport and home therapy), Aerosol therapy devices, and devices for emanation of medical gases. We are looking for an engineer with product development and project management skills to join an R&D team focused on innovations.

Responsibilities
  • You’ll be part of a primary international company as a member of our young and dynamic engineering team and you will contribute to the design of cutting-edge products.
  • To be successful in this position, you should have previous experience in medium complexity product development with strong requirements in terms of user-experience, comfort, ergonomics realized in engineering plastics crafted with injection mould technology. You should have at least an academic background on FEA in mechanical engineering to run simulations, anticipate design performance and identify issues. A previous proven working experience is considered a plus. The medical field requires applicable standards and technical documentation that must be developed and regularly updated. These activities are part of daily activities. You must be able to read standards, perform tests and create test reports. Candidates with experience in medical devices conformity will be preferred. You’ll have the responsibility to create a project development plan: define and schedule main tasks with stakeholders internal and external, and ensure adherence to timing.
  • Definition of the product requirement together with the marketing team.
  • Feasibility study of a new product development.
  • Propose new innovative patentable ideas.
  • Apply a DTC approach for new and reviewed products to reduce unit costs.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s safety standards.
  • Ensure products are user- and environment-friendly.
  • Run FEA to identify possible design issues and propose alternative solutions.
  • Manage the relationship with suppliers to realize prototypes with the most recently available additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Analyze prototype data and test them if needed.
  • Manage documentation of both new and revised 3D designs.
  • Write detailed reports.
  • Assess quality control on components and prepare check lists.
  • Develop technical documentation according to EU regulations to grant CE certification.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in R&D teams developing products.
  • Good understanding of safety standards and environmental and ergonomics impact of a design.
  • At least a basic knowledge on design of injection moulds for engineering polymers and elastomers.
  • Proven knowledge of finite element analysis in mechanical engineering, with proficiency in a major tool.
  • Ability to report in front of management.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Master degree in mechanical, biomechanical, biomedical or material engineer.
  • Intermediate English language (B2 or more).
  • Driving license.
