Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in offshore roles. Competenze

Position Title: Process Engineer

Report to the Jacket Engineering Coordinator, and responsible for the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of oil and gas processes across various project phases. This includes ensuring that production systems are safe, efficient, and compliant with environmental and regulatory standards. The role spans from conceptual and front-end design through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations support.

Design & Engineering
  • Develop and review process design deliverables, including:
    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Heat & Material Balances (HMBs)
    • Process data sheets for equipment and instruments
  • Perform process simulations using tools like Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or PRO/II.
  • Size and specify process equipment such as separators, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and columns.
  • Ensure designs comply with project specifications, international standards (API, ASME, ISO), and regulatory requirements.
Project Development
  • Contribute to conceptual studies, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), and detailed design.
  • Participate in design reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
  • Support preparation of technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation, piping) and project stakeholders.
Commissioning & Operations
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities by developing operating manuals and procedures.
  • Conduct performance testing and plant start-up support.
  • Analyze process upsets, troubleshoot plant issues, and recommend operational improvements.
  • Monitor KPIs and develop strategies for improving production efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
Process Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct risk assessments, process safety reviews, and consequence modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and health & safety standards.
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or internal teams.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas production processes: separation, dehydration, compression, gas treatment, refining, etc.
  • Proficient in process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS, UniSim, ProMax).Good working knowledge of codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, IEC).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project environments.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (B. Se) in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Work experience of ten (10) years in the sought discipline after earning the BSc degree.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status
    • Familiarity with HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and PSM standards (e.g., OSHA 1910.119)
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of offshore experience in total, with at least the last 3–5 years spent on offshore projects.
  • Excellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write specifications and reports.
