Payroll Manager

Are you a payroll professional looking to experience a dynamic football club environment? Reporting to the Finance and HR Department, the Payroll Manager will manage and oversee the payroll process. The role will ensure compliance with tax and social security regulations, also coordinating with external providers and inspection bodies.

Responsibilities
  • Full payroll management, overseeing the monthly payroll process, including contributions, tax, and social security compliance.
  • Manage all payroll-related mandatory obligations, including notifications to Employment Centers (UNILAV), handling workplace injury cases, and submitting regular social security, tax, and insurance filings, ensuring full compliance with current regulations.
  • Follow Manager’s instructions, collaborate in handling the process of acquiring sports licenses for participation in national competitions, preparing the required reports and documentation within the HR function’s scope.
  • Collaborate with Sports Secretariats supporting activities related to registered personnel (hires, terminations, severance incentives, and transfer bonuses) necessary for payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with HR: Verify accuracy of attendance, absences, overtime, leave, and other variable payroll elements; support HR in employment administration, compensation policies, benefits, and incentives; assist in strategic HR reporting (labor costs, headcount, payroll projections); ensure consistency and reconciliation of payroll, HR, and budget data.
  • Support payroll and HR digitalization by implementing software and process enhancements to optimize workflows, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure, in coordination with Finance, accurate execution of salary and contribution payments, proper accounting of labor costs, and preparation of labor cost reports for budgeting, forecasting, and monthly closures.
  • Coordinate with labor consultants, external payroll providers, inspection bodies, and auditors, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensure correct application of CCNL agreements, staying updated on labor law and social security changes.
  • Data confidentiality: Ensure protection of personal data and compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Economics or related fields.
  • Proven experience (minimum 7–8 years) in payroll management and supervision in structured companies or payroll consulting firms.
  • Previous experience in football and/or sports organizations is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, fostering teamwork.
  • Deep knowledge of labor laws, tax and social security practices, collective bargaining agreements (CCNL), and monthly/annual payroll obligations.
  • Ability to read and explain payroll statements.
  • Knowledge of the CCNL for Sports Workers is considered a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll management software (e.g., Zucchetti, ADP, TeamSystem, or equivalents) and data analysis tools.
  • Accuracy, analytical skills, and results-oriented mindset.
