A prominent consulting firm in Rome seeks an Associate-level M&A and Licensing Analyst. The role involves supporting strategic partnership opportunities and conducting analysis throughout the M&A lifecycle. Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree, 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector, and strong analytical skills. This position is hybrid-eligible and offers a relocation allowance if necessary.

M&A and Licensing Analyst – Pharmaceutical

Corporate Strategy & Finance Department – Aims International Italia Società Benefit is looking for an associate-level analyst to support strategic partnership opportunities across the global market, providing analysis, assessment and negotiation support throughout the early‑stage M&A and licensing lifecycle.

Key responsibilities
  • Identifying key targets – companies, products and assets.
  • Building, expanding and consolidating relationships with stakeholders – internal and external.
  • Maintaining and regularly updating BD mapping and related platforms/tools.
  • Supporting the preparation of business cases:
    • Business case – economics / PowerPoint presentation.
    • Termsheet and contract understanding.
  • Project & team management – project planning and management, data‑room management (IN/OUT) and due‑diligence management/coordination (IN/OUT).
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Economics or Engineering.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is considered an advantage.
  • 3–5 years of experience in the Pharma Business or in Consulting, with direct exposure to financial processes, budgeting, planning/forecasting within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Deep understanding of the Pharma/BioTech competitive arena and evolving market scenarios (e.g., competitive landscape, market & pipeline).
  • Ability to understand and contribute to the management of a business case.
  • Ability to conduct research, analyze data and assess market trends and competitor behaviours.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • Strong strategic and analytical abilities with a relentless drive for execution.
  • Capacity to prioritize and apply critical reasoning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and "can‑do" attitude.
  • Ability to build and maximise relationships/networking with cross‑functional internal and strategic external stakeholders.
