RINA is currently recruiting for a Global Tax Director to join its office in Genoa (Italy) within the Global Tax Division.

Mission

You will be responsible for defining and driving the Group’s global tax strategy, ensuring optimal tax efficiency, full compliance with national and international regulations, and alignment with the company’s financial and strategic goals. As a strategic partner to the CFO and executive leadership, you will provide vision, guidance, and leadership across all regions, overseeing tax policy development, planning, risk management, and governance. You will also lead all tax operations to ensure effective policy implementation, operational excellence, and consistent compliance across all jurisdictions.

Key Accountabilities
1. Tax Strategy & Governance
  • Define and implement the global tax strategy in alignment with the company’s business objectives and financial goals.
  • Develop and oversee a global tax governance framework, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accountability.
  • Advise executive management on the tax implications of strategic decisions, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives.
  • Identify and drive tax optimization and efficiency opportunities while maintaining compliance and ethical standards.
2. International Tax Planning & Structuring
  • Lead global initiatives on tax planning, transfer pricing, and cross-border structuring to optimize the Group’s effective tax rate.
  • Ensure compliance with OECD guidelines, BEPS requirements, and other international tax frameworks.
  • Monitor and assess tax exposure and risks across jurisdictions and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversight of Tax Operations:
  • Supervise and guide the Tax Operations activities, ensuring operational excellence in compliance, reporting, and local tax management.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of tax returns, provisions, disclosures, and audits across all entities.
  • Support the continuous improvement of tax processes, controls, and reporting systems globally.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure the organization’s full compliance with all national and international tax laws and regulations.
  • Establish and maintain tax risk management frameworks, monitoring and mitigating potential exposures.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and auditors worldwide.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the global tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior executives, finance, and legal teams, ensuring tax considerations are embedded in business decisions.
  • Represent the company in external forums and maintain high standards of corporate reputation and compliance.
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Law

Master’s Degree in Business Administration Finance Management

Qualifications
  • Over 8 years of progressive experience in tax strategy, planning, and compliance within multinational environments, including Big Four or multinational corporate experience.
  • Specialization in Taxation or International Tax Law preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing global tax strategies.
  • In‑depth knowledge of international tax regulations, including the OECD/BEPS framework, transfer pricing, and tax risk management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Project management expertise, with experience leading complex, cross‑border initiatives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Fluent in English and Italian; proficiency in additional languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish) is a plus.
