Job Description Summary

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for meeting the daily service repair needs of the customer’s equipment and driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Total system-level troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and service repair needs on designated equipment.
  • Interface with doctors and technicians on equipment status issues. Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining communications and follow-up until resolution.
  • Maintain administrative responsibilities such as customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment properly and ensure calibration.
  • Identify sales opportunities and communicate to the account team in the geographic area.
  • Work as a member of the local team to provide efficient and cost-effective service to the assigned area.
  • Complete all administration tasks on time.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned FMIs and PMs.
  • Assist less experienced Junior Field Service Engineers on advanced troubleshooting and technical fixes.
  • Cooperate with internal stakeholders and interlocutors.
  • Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001, according to the GE Service Quality Policy Statement.
Quality Specific Goals
  • Be aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within defined deadlines.
  • Identify and report immediately customer quality or compliance concerns to the Quality Organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, IT Engineering or similar field, or a high specialization technical diploma with relevant field experience.
  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a specific modality or multi-modalities, with extensive knowledge and experience of CT & MR machinery in particular.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly.
  • Proven ability to interact with customers, drive positive relationships, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Based in Palermo or able to relocate.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • EU Work Permit.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to show self-initiative and motivation; able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
  • Change agent and process-oriented.
  • IT & connectivity skills.
