Your mission

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic ESS Regional Project Manager - Italy (Milan) to lead our Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business in Sungrow Europe. This role is crucial for ensuring successful ESS project delivery and high-level customer engagement, involving team leadership and strategic expansion in a high-growth market. The ideal candidate will combine organizational skills, leadership, and strategic thinking to drive results.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Project Planning
    - Define BESS project scope (S, A, B levels), goals, and deliverables at different stages.
    - Develop detailed project plans, timelines (Gantt charts, schedules), and budgets.
    - Identify risks and create mitigation strategies.
  2. Team Coordination & Leadership
    - Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
    - Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams (commercial, service, product solutions, legal, finance, etc.).
    - Motivate and guide the team to meet deadlines.
  3. Stakeholder Communication
    - Act as the main point of contact for clients, executives, and team members.
    - Provide regular progress updates (status reports, meetings).
    - Organize meetings with key stakeholders and report to internal and external parties.
    - Manage expectations and negotiate changes when necessary.
  4. Project Payment & Resource Management
    - Track project payment milestones and ensure adherence to schedules and deadlines.
    - Allocate resources efficiently (manpower, tools, materials).
  5. Risk & Issue Management
    - Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
    - Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles hindering progress.
  6. Quality Assurance & Delivery
    - Ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
    - Conduct post-project reviews (lessons learned, performance analysis).
Your profile

- 2-3+ years in project management leadership within energy storage, renewables, or technical infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- Proven experience managing teams and developing customer relationships.
- Skilled in solution-based project management with strong contract negotiation abilities.
- Fluency in English and Italian (minimum B2 level).
- Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time.

Project Manager Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) – PMI
  • PRINCE2 (Projects in Controlled Environments)
  • CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) – Entry-level
