A leading cloud services provider in Milan is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team. This role involves diagnosing hardware and network problems, troubleshooting within service level agreements, and performing root cause analysis of equipment failures. Candidates should have experience in IT hardware troubleshooting and a formal qualification in an IT-related field. The position requires B1+ level English and involves working onsite in shifts. Local travel may be required, and a valid EU driving license is essential.

Overview

Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations — Job ID: 3141865 | Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. You’ll join a diverse team and help deliver safety, security, and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs
• Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
• Working rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment
• Local travel may be required up to 10% of the time. A valid (EU) driving license is required as Data Centers may not have any public transportation available nearby.

Location & Schedule

Location requirements: Data centers located in remote areas outside Milan, where access via public transport may be limited.

Work schedule: 100% onsite in-person position with shift-based schedule.

Qualifications

• Basic: IT hardware troubleshooting related experience
• Completed formal education/apprenticeship or training in IT-related field
• B1+ level of English
• Diploma or equivalent formal qualification in IT-related field (preferred)
• Basic knowledge of Linux and experience with network protocols and in Data Center (preferred)
