Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‑motivated Construction Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic, and will be based in Turin working on National and International Construction Projects on an extended‑fixed term.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure the quality of the works (e.g., compliance with the project design and specifications).
  • Ensure compliance of construction activities with the construction planning.
  • Liaise with Customers, Authorities, Contractors, Partners and Subcontractors for site and/or material takeover and/or handover.
  • Ensure the compliance on site of the rules foreseen by the HSE Management plan, for the works under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensure the optimisation of the resources (internal and external/subcontractors) in the project on site, having as baseline the project budget and planning.
  • Develop site‑specific plans to be implemented in the projects programme and budget in agreement with the Construction Manager.
  • Ensure continuous updating and improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Support the Construction Manager to ensure the material is available on site in accordance with the Working Schedule agreed with Customer and Subcontractors.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Up to 5 years of on‑site activities, site workforce management, site technical control and coordination.
  • Career level: Experienced (Non‑Manager).
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Office Suite.
  • Experience and fluency with technical drawing and reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Signalling, Power Supply and Traction Power Technology Systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Health, Safety and Environment awareness.
  • Valid driving licence in Sweden, availability to drive.
  • Open to discuss travel/long‑term assignment to national/foreign construction projects.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Basic to average working knowledge of Rail Transit Subsystems and experience on metro site works is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate is self‑confident, smart, communicative and a team worker.
Education and Experience
  • High School Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/TLC, with certified 2/5 years of work experience on Railways/metro site electromechanical/civil works.
  • Engineering university degree or equivalent technical background (electric/mechanic/TLC) with 1 year of work experience on Railways/metro site electromechanical/civil works.
Languages

English proficiency.
