Descrizione del lavoro
Would you like the opportunity to develop your clinical interest in a practice that can provide the flexibility and support to do so, paying up to £65,000?
  • This role offers real flexibility, offering shorter hours or longer days to fit around other commitments
  • You will be supported by a fantastic team of 6 vets, 12 RVNs, 4 SVNs and a team of receptionists who will ensure you have everything needed to achieve your career goals
  • Ideally this will be a medical bias role and consult only can be considered
  • We care about your wellbeing ensuring a good work life balance and we have mental health first aiders on site!
  • Only 1:4 Saturdays, which may be sole charge
  • No OOH and no Sundays or Bank Holidays
  • Paying up to £65,000 DOE, FTE

About us:
We are a progressive, forward thinking general practice and pride ourselves on providing an excellent standard of care to our patients while making sure our colleagues feel equally looked after and valued.
Led by our Practice Owners, Rachel and Claire, our friendly, experienced team is made up of 6 vets, 10 RVNs, 6 SVNs and a team of experienced receptionists based across both our practices.
As a practice we have a varied caseload and clinical freedom with gold standard practice actively encouraged. The veterinary team include Certificate holder in Surgery as well as working closely with Certificate holders in Ultrasonography, Cardiology & Surgery. We are also proud holders of the RCVS Practice Standards GP, ISFM and RAW silver awards, Dog Friendly Practice award and are proud winners of the Vets4Pets graduate practice of the year award.
We hold fortnightly vet meetings giving colleagues the opportunity to discuss cases, review protocols and look at any new products available. Regular admin time slots are allocated into the diary as well as on the day appointments to help ease the day to day working of the practice.

The nursing team is highly motivated and hold a number of post VN qualifications - Graduate Diploma, Certificates in Emergency & Critical Care, Infection Control, Feline Friendly Nursing and Dermatology and have nurses currently studying towards Certificate in Anaesthesia.

Our two practices are based across Sunderland, a short distance from the stunning beaches of the North East coastline and our location provides close proximity to transport links including metro stations, A19, A1, the airport and main train stations.

About you:
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is confident with consults and internal medicine and this might be you bias leading to a consult only role however we are happy for someone to cover both consults and surgery - come and talk to us about your ideal working pattern - we offer flexibility both in terms of clinical preference and working hours. Our Saturday rota is 1:4, we are not open Sundays, and you will not be required to cover OOHs or bank holidays.

As well as joining our wonderful, close-knit team providing great veterinary care to their community you will also benefit from being part of the wider Vets4Pets network. This provides additional support in many aspects of your role as well as the excellent benefits package you would expect from a major veterinary employer - including 6.6 weeks annual leave, unlimited CPD, professional fees paid, contributory pension scheme, Your Pets Reward hub giving access to company benefits, wellbeing support and everyday discounts. We are offering a salary up to £65,000 FTE dependent on experience. We actively encourage certificates and offer support for sponsorship to overseas vets.

If you would like an informal chat, want to find out more about the amazing opportunity to join our team, or would like to apply:

Please get in touch with Rachel on 07771373577 or e-mail sunderlandsouthjvp@vets4pets.com / northvets@vets4pets.com and someone will get back to you within 1 working day

We are an equal opportunities employer and have a team of 6 Mental Health First Aiders within our team .

Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
