A heritage conservation organization is seeking a seasonal steward at Tantallon Castle, North Berwick. You will be key in providing an engaging experience for visitors while managing retail and admissions transactions. Essential skills include customer service experience, teamwork, interest in heritage tourism, and cash handling. This role is part-time and requires a willingness to work weekends and public holidays. Join us and immerse yourself in Scotland's history while enhancing visitor experiences.
Starting salary: £25,770 pro‑ra (proportionate to hours worked and length of contract)
Contract type: Part Year Permanent
Grade: 1
Location: Tantallon Castle, North Berwick, EH39 5PN
Working Hours: Friday to Tuesday, 5 out of 7 days, 35 hours per week (Includes weekend and public holiday working)
Interviews: To be held in person on Week Commencing 26th January 2026
Your role of steward will be a part year permanent position up until 30th September. The likely start date for this role is 16th March 2026.

Tantallon Castle is a dramatic cliff‑top fortress, with a significant history, varied wildlife and extensive views. As a steward, you are key to enhancing the visitor experience by engaging with visitors about all aspects of the site.
In order for you to be successful in this post, we will be looking for you to complete a cover letter which addresses:
