Qualifications

  • Completion of the Safety Committee Members and Safety Case Owners Training Course.
  • Training in Contractor Safety for Contract Supervisor Business Support Services.

Job description

We're looking for a Safety Case Manager to support the facilities and stakeholders on the Capenhurst Site with the ongoing compliance to a number of the Site Licence Conditions that relate to the production, maintenance, review and implementation of plant safety cases. The Capenhurst Site offers the Safety Case Manager role to be involved with a wide variety of facilities (Enrichment, Recycling, Tails Management, Site Services, Waste and Decommissioning) and projects (e.g. LEU+, cylinder remediation and removal of legacy cylinders, replacement of obsolescent equipment with modern, crane improvements). There remains a significant programme of safety improvement work and efficiency gains to be delivered over the next five years to ensure the continued success of the Capenhurst Site. What you’ll do:
  • Manage the preparation, approval, implementation, adoption and maintenance of Safety Cases on behalf of the SCO.
  • Ensure that only SQEP resources are utilised to deliver Safety Case work.
  • Determine and provide advice on the type of safety justification required, commensurate with the plant lifecycle phase, and approve the scope.
  • Prepare and endorse Safety Case Manager Memoranda providing formal advice to SCO and plant personnel as to whether a particular issue or required activity is covered by extant Safety Assessment.
  • Lead the Periodic Safety Review for the Safety Cases within the remit of their appointment including management of any action or safety assessment changes required as a result of the review.
  • Confirm categorisation of Change Management Process proposals on behalf of the SCO.
