Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You\'ll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

Come and join JLR as a Senior Software & Data Processing Developer – ADAS - Assisted & Automated Driving. We’re looking for an accomplished developer to play a leading role in shaping the software tools that support the verification and validation of next-generation assisted and automated driving systems.

As part of the Assisted & Automated Driving System Integration and Testing team, you’ll work on the design, development and support of robust software solutions used to analyse and validate complex vehicle data. Your work will directly support the safe, reliable delivery of ADAS and automated driving features, helping ensure our vehicles meet the highest standards of quality and performance. JLR is undergoing a significant transformation to remain at the forefront of the automotive industry, and this role is a key part of that journey. You’ll join an agile squad, collaborating closely with skilled engineers and internal stakeholders, and contributing high-quality solutions at pace to the tools that underpin the development of our future vehicles.

What to Expect

This is a hands-on position with plenty of scope to make an impact. Key responsibilities will include –

  • Develop and implement software tools that interact with Assisted and Automated Driving data from in‑vehicle and ECU networks, lidar, radar, high‑resolution and high‑dynamic‑range cameras, and inertial navigation systems
  • Design and deliver end‑to‑end software solutions across the data pipeline, including data acquisition, transformation, KPI creation and dashboarding
  • Support and continuously improve CI/CD ways of working across multiple software languages and environments
  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams including Ground Truth, Measurement Techniques, Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop to create integrated solutions across the product validation ecosystem
  • Produce and deliver technical documentation, user guides and training, while working closely with the wider Assisted and Automated Driving V&V organisation to ensure scalable, well‑integrated solutions
  • Diagnose, resolve and support software and system issues efficiently, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of data acquisition systems in both prototype and production vehicles
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support team, project and business objectives
What You’ll Need

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a solid background, relevant certifications, and the following key skills –

  • Strong hands‑on programming experience in C++ and Python within a production or engineering environment
  • Experience working directly with sensor data, including signal processing, image data and/or point cloud data
  • Practical experience using source control and CI/CD pipelines as part of modern software development practices
  • Comfortable working across Windows and Linux systems, including basic system administration
  • Proven hands‑on ADAS or autonomous driving experience within an automotive or closely related technical environment
Benefits

This role is rewarding in more ways than one. On top of our core offering, you’ll do extraordinary work with amazing people. In addition, you can expect a wide range of benefits:

  • Discounted car purchase (open to family members, too)
  • A 52 week maternity leave policy and a 4 week paternity leave policy. Other parental leave policies are available
  • A competitive pension
  • A JLR company performance-related bonus
  • An employee learning scheme providing funding for; education, training and other activities which support the development of personal skills and promote lifelong learning
  • Access to open, employee-led support and social networks
  • Comprehensive Life Assurance and Income Protection policies
  • Flexible working*

*Flexible working is offered for specific roles dependant on responsibilities. Please speak to the hiring team for details

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.

We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.

Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you\'re interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people\'s ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.
