A leading NHS teaching trust in Oxford is seeking a dedicated support worker to join the maternity team. You will arrange appointments and support women experiencing birth trauma, while collaborating closely with registered midwives to ensure high-quality care. The role includes administrative duties and an emphasis on teamwork and communication skills. Applicants should ideally have GCSEs in Maths and English or prior clinical experience. Training opportunities and a supportive workplace culture are offered.
You will work closely with the Birth Reflections, Healthy Lifestyles, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Antenatal Newborn Screening, Infant Feeding and Vaccinations teams. You will primarily be based at the John Radcliffe hospital with the possibility of being asked to travel to other sites. Duties will included arranging appointments and gathering notes, as well as providing tours for women who have experienced birth trauma. This role is always expanding, with duties dependent upon the needs of the public health team. You will need to be comfortable with using computers on a daily basis. You may be asked to support the acute maternity wards as clinical need arises. As a member of the maternity team you will support and closely work with registered midwives to deliver a high standard of care to women in a caring and safe environment. To work as part of the wider team in developing and maintaining services provided to women and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area. To maintain the dignity and privacy of all women and respect their right to confidentiality.
