Salary: Grade 8: £48,235 - £57,255 per annum, including the Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 per annum
Contract: Fixed-term (up to three years), full-time (37.5 hours per week)
The University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a pioneering research programme focused on insurance and assurance for AI evaluation and risk management. This position is part of the AI2 (Algorithmic Assurance and Insurance) research initiative, supported by industry and academic partners. Our mission is to develop foundational models for evaluating, managing, and pricing risk in AI systems.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will work at the interface of AI, operations research, and management science, developing rigorous and practical methods for algorithmic risk assessment. You will be part of the broader AI2 collaboration, involving researchers from the University of Edinburgh and Warwick University. You will also have time allocated for your own independent research.
You should hold a PhD/DPhil in a relevant quantitative field such as Operations Research, Management Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering. A strong publication record and understanding of current research are essential. Demonstrated ability to independently plan and manage research projects, including overseeing a budget, is required.
