Position:Sales Executive

Location: Lowestoft, Suffolk (Office-based)

Overview:

Our client, a growing company with a global reach, offers unique consultancy and membership intelligence services in the offshore energy sector. They are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Sales Executive to join their team. This role involves selling subscription services to a global customer base, providing sales demonstrations, and handling related administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn about our client's products and gain an in-depth understanding of the offshore energy sector.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain strong business relationships with current and prospective customers.
2. Conduct telephone, Teams, and in-person presentations to existing and prospective customers.
3. Research sources to identify prospective customers and gather information to assess their potential.
4. Create clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
5. Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly.
6. Coordinate sales efforts with sales management and technical service teams.
7. Analyse market potential and evaluate the value of existing and prospective customers to the organisation.
8. Plan and organise personal sales strategy to maximise the return on time investment.
9. Provide management with reports on customer needs, interests, and competitive activities.
10. Stay informed about our client's and competitors' products, market conditions, and promotional trends.
11. Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and webinars.

Work Activities:

1. Respond quickly and efficiently to incoming email and phone inquiries.
2. Build and maintain relationships with existing customers in person, by phone, and by email.
3. Present products or services in a structured, professional manner, either face-to-face or online.
4. Listen to customer requirements and present solutions to make sales.
5. Conduct cold calling to prospect for new business.
6. Act as a liaison between the company and existing and potential markets.
7. Negotiate terms of agreements and close sales.
8. Gather market and customer information and provide feedback to management.
9. Represent our client at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
10. Negotiate on price, costs, delivery, and specifications with buyers and managers.
11. Manage objections to achieve sales goals.
12. Advise on upcoming product developments and special promotions.
13. Create detailed proposal documents as part of formal bidding processes.
14. Record sales and order information and enter data into computer systems.
15. Review sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
16. Make accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide quotations.
17. Feed future buying trends back to management.
18. Attend team meetings and share best practices with colleagues.

Experience & Skills:

1. Sales background in an office environment with experience achieving targets.
2. Strong computer skills.
3. Experience in contacting businesses by phone and in person.
