Job summary
An organization providing care services in Portstewart seeks a Personal Care Assistant to support adults with physical disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, daily living tasks, and monitoring health status. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing schedules. Two part-time positions are available, approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible shifts from Monday to Sunday.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in healthcare or social work preferable but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic towards individuals with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks like bathing and grooming.
- Support household maintenance and daily tasks.
- Monitor health status and report concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate communication with healthcare providers.
- Ensure safety by identifying potential hazards.
Skills
Personal Care Assistant required for an adult with physical disability.
- Personal Care Support - To assist the individual with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Daily Living Assistance - To support the individual household maintenance and daily tasks
- Provide physical assistance and support with mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, or crutches
- Monitor the individuals health status and report any changes or concerns to the employer or healthcare professionals
- Assistance to health care appointments and to help facilitate communication between the individual and healthcare providers
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual by identifying and addressing potential hazards or risks in the environment
- Relevant experience or qualifications in healthcare, social work, or a related field preferable but not essential
- Ability to work independently
- Compassion and empathy towards individuals facing challenges or disabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
