This role involves applying software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technologies.

To succeed as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you should have experience with:

• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Database Performance Tuning – SME
• Deep understanding of LDAP protocols and directory services
• SQL Optimization
• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) and knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)

Additional valued skills include:

• Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Incident diagnosis and resolution
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

This role is based at our Knutsford campus.

• Ensure availability, performance, and scalability through monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning
• Respond to system outages, analyze issues, and implement preventive measures
• Develop automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency and system resilience
• Optimize system performance and resource usage
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability, scalability, and performance best practices into software development
• Stay updated on industry trends and contribute to technological communities

• Contribute to strategy, requirements, and policy development; manage resources and budgets; drive continuous improvement
• If managing teams, define roles, plan for future needs, and oversee performance and pay decisions
