Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Credit to join our dynamic team in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions for credit risk assessment and management.

  1. Design, develop, and implement complex software systems for credit risk modeling and analysis
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  3. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices and design patterns
  4. Optimize existing software systems for improved performance and scalability
  5. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
  6. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments
  7. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in financial software development
  8. Mentor junior developers and contribute to the team's technical growth
  9. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards in all software solutions
Qualifications
  1. Strong evidencible track record of software engineering ideally in financial services or credit-related software development
  2. In-depth knowledge of financial software development and banking processes
  3. Strong understanding of database systems and SQL
  4. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and software development best practices
  5. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  6. Ability to maintain multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently

It would be a real bonus if you have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
  2. Comprehensive understanding of credit processes, products, and regulations
  3. Avaloq Certification
  4. In-depth knowledge of the banking industry, including products and processes
  5. Expertise in credit risk assessment techniques and financial regulations
