Job description
Introduction

Indulge your passion for problem-solving and embrace the thrill of addressing risk head-on at Gallagher's global brokerage team. Join a family of diverse minds, united by a relentless pursuit of excellence. As part of our team, you'll be the architect of protection, safeguarding businesses and empowering their ambitions. Together, we'll build a legacy of trust and triumph in the dynamic world of risk management.

We believe that every candidate brings something special to the table, including you! So, even if you feel that you’re close but not an exact match, we encourage you to apply.

Overview

We are offering an exciting opportunity for school leavers to join our Graduate Apprenticeship programme in Glasgow. Upon successful completion of the programme, you will have acquired an Honours degree in Accountancy and Finance from Robert Gordon University and professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant with ICAS. On top of that, you will have gained 5 years of invaluable experience working in a finance team for a global top-three insurance broker, with the guarantee of a full-time position.

How you'll make an impact

Your Learning

  • 5-year programme
  • Years 1 to 3: study for BA (Hons) Accounting with Robert Gordon University
  • Years 4 & 5: study for CA qualification with ICAS
  • 1 day per week protected study day
  • 8 days per year on campus (travel and subsistence costs to Aberdeen covered)
  • Dedicated mentor throughout the programme

Your Role

At our Global Accounting Centre, we have over 300 team members servicing a global business. From day one at Gallagher, you'll be part of our experienced finance team, receiving full support from your team members. You'll develop deep accounting knowledge in a supportive and structured environment, gaining valuable real-world experience.

During the five-year programme, you'll have the opportunity to work in various finance teams, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how finance operates at Gallagher. Your responsibilities will include producing and reporting accurate financial results, preparing accounting and finance entries, and providing support to resolve issues as they arise. Each experience will contribute to your understanding of Gallagher's policies, governance, and processes.

You'll also have the chance to apply the knowledge and skills you acquire at university to tasks and projects in your day-to-day work.

About You

  • BBBB Highers (must include English and Maths)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Drive to learn and develop
  • Passion for a career within Finance

Funded by the Scottish Government through the Scottish Funding Council and SAAS, these opportunities are available for eligible candidates. Check your funding eligibility here: Graduate Apprenticeships - Funding - SAAS

Early applications are encouraged as recruitment is ongoing.

The programme will start in August 2025.
